This week is my fandom anniversary, 10 years ago I watched Velvet Goldmine for the first time and then I found all the good stuff online. This movie was also my first real listen of the music by The Stooges - so something very good to celebrate.

Today is the 30th Anniversary of the release of London Calling by The Clash - my favorite record.

"Raise a toast to Saint Joe Strummer, he may have been our only decent teacher..."

I found Velvet Goldmine a week before my 40th birthday - I turned 50 this past June. I found a group called Prettyboys and somehow, it got dumped in my lap, I moderated the list and maintained the fanfic website. *sigh* good times, man.
